Philip M. Mize was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  

Philip attended college at the University of Mississippi graduating with  a B.A. in History, in 1999, and received his JD from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, in 2002.  During law school Philip was a member of the University of Memphis Law Review and clerked for the Honorable  John Lanier of the Circuit Court for Shelby County, Tennessee.

Philip is a member of Montgomery County Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and American Bar Association. He is licensed in Tennessee.
